Being the CEO of Global Healing Is Personal

Get to know Julio Torres, the leader of Global Healing, in his open letter to customers.

When I first joined Global Healing in 2003, it wasn’t a supplement company just yet. It was a wellness clinic run by one guy in Houston, Texas. That guy, Dr. Group, completely changed my life, the way I take care of myself and the way I care for others.

Back then, I had a small agency that built websites for local businesses. Dr. Group hired us to create a website for Global Healing. The internet was a brand-new landscape back then, and Dr. Group was on a mission to use it as a way to help people, reaching millions of people with his message. A visionary, with a selfless purpose.

The more I got to know Dr. Group and understand what he was trying to do, the more in love I fell with his mission. I watched him interact with patients. He would greet them at the door, and he never paid attention to the time. He would ask about their hobbies, their lifestyles, their diets. There was one question that always made people tear up: “What makes you happy?”

He wanted to really get to know people and understand them, so he could offer help that didn’t just address their symptoms but genuinely improved their lives. That attention, care, and love is the core of Global Healing. And it’s my great honor to be entrusted with helping lead that mission forward.

When I think about what it means to be the CEO of a global natural health company, I feel an overwhelming sense of responsibility. Throughout the years, I’ve seen firsthand how a lot of companies cut corners in the name of profitability, and I’ve learned some pretty upsetting things. Whether it’s supplements or actual food or cosmetics or household products, the vast majority of us are completely unaware of what we’re putting in and on our bodies and how it affects our health.

I think about my mom, my wife, my sister, and my daughter, and I feel the responsibility to do everything I can to make the world a healthier place. When I became CEO in 2023, I immediately began searching for an advocacy group to join, so I could fight for real change where it matters most: in the way supplement regulations are written and enforced.

When I shop, I consider my purchase as a vote. I’m not perfect by any means, but I try to be intentional about which companies I buy from. So, as the leader of Global Healing, I assume every customer feels the same way. I want you to know what you’re “voting” for and feel proud of your choice. I believe we owe it back to you to do some good in the world.

I also believe that you should know who’s behind the companies you support, so I’m happy for this opportunity to share a bit about myself. This isn’t a job for me. It’s my entire life. My identity is deeply connected to what we stand for and what we’re building here. Being part of Global Healing is an incredible responsibility, and it’s also something I genuinely love. I get to work alongside amazing people. I get to watch them grow both inside the company and out in the world.

I’m constantly reminded that I’m part of something bigger. When you work for Global Healing you become the go-to person for your family and friends to ask about health, supplements, ingredients, and even sourcing. “What should I take? What should I do? Can I trust this?” It’s powerful.

That’s the kind of relationship I want Global Healing to have with everyone. I want everyone to know, without a doubt, that they can come to us for information and real solutions, and they’ll get an answer from someone they can trust. I want all of us to live healthier, and live longer.

So when I think about legacy and what happens one day when I’m not part of Global Healing.. What matters most to me is that we protect the values we’ve built the company on and maintain the level of trust we’ve earned with our customers, no matter how much we grow.
