How to Repurpose an Empty Supplement Bottle into a DIY Reed Diffuser

Instead of tossing your empty liquid supplement bottles in the recycling bin, why not turn them into a beautiful, natural reed diffuser? This DIY project is an easy way to reduce waste while filling your space with a clean, chemical-free scent.

Most store-bought air fresheners are packed with synthetic fragrances and questionable ingredients. But when you make your own diffuser, you control exactly what goes into it. Plus, this is a great way to reuse those gorgeous Miron glass bottles that feel too nice to throw away.

What You’ll Need:

How to Make Your Reed Diffuser:

  1. Clean the bottle – Wash it thoroughly with warm water and soap, then let it dry completely.
  2. Fill with carrier oil – Pour your choice of carrier oil into the bottle until it’s about ¾ full. Fractionated coconut oil and sweet almond oil work well since they’re light and won’t clog the reeds.
  3. Add essential oils – Choose your favorite essential oils and add 30-40 drops. Go for pure, organic essential oils for the cleanest, most natural fragrance.
  4. Insert the reeds – Place the reed diffuser sticks into the bottle and let them soak for a few hours so they can fully absorb the oils.
  5. Flip the reeds – Every few days, turn the reeds upside down to refresh the scent and keep the aroma strong.

With just a few simple steps, you can create an eco-friendly reed diffuser using materials you already have at home. This little DIY project not only helps you cut down on waste but also lets you fill your space with scents that support your well-being without synthetic chemicals.

Try experimenting with different essential oil blends to match your mood or the season. And next time you finish a supplement, think twice before throwing the bottle away. You might just have your next upcycling project waiting for you!
